February | 2025 | Gates of Vienna (1)Both Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum agreed to send troops to guard their respective borders with the US, and work to address the fentanyl issue. In response, President Trump postponed the imposition of tariffs for thirty days while the details are being worked out.

In other news, Friedrich Merz, the leader of the “conservative” CDU in Germany, vowed that his party will never work with the far right.

Back in 2016 and 2017 I had major concerns about the apparent coziness of Donald Trump and his advisors with Turkey. In the context of Mr. Trump’s second term, David Boyajian examines the Trump-Turkey issue in detail.

February | 2025 | Gates of Vienna (2)

Will President Trump Again Put Turkey — Not America — First?

by David Boyajian

In his 2017 and 2025 inaugural addresses, President Donald Trump pledged to “Put America first.”

His 2017-2021 term, however, put Turkey and Turkish President Erdogan first. And his second term is looking even worse.

In Trump’s Turkish Problem (2022), I cautioned the would-be candidate to “ditch his Turkish investments, Turkish-tainted cronies, and Turkish fixation… in his and America’s best interests.”

Besides being nakedly corrupt and repressive, Turkey’s rogue regime has cozied up to Moscow and supported ISIS, the al-Qaeda offshoot Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), and other terrorist organizations.

Hardly a day goes by when Erdogan isn’t throwing a temper tantrum, concocting outlandish demands, or threatening NATO members.

Yet somehow Trump’s a “big fan” of Turkey’s president. Erdogan “does things the right way.”

Corruption, repression, incessant threats, and supporting terrorism are “the right way”?

I’m “very close to [Erdogan],” Trump once declared. Way too close, actually.

His flattery of Erdogan has been a national embarrassment and has accomplished nothing.

Unfortunately, Trump admits to liking “tough guy” foreign leaders. That is, unsavory autocrats such as Erdogan.

Erdogan’s “tough, but I get along with him. And maybe that’s a bad thing, but I think it’s a really good thing.” And you thought Pres. Biden was confused.

All American presidents and top European leaders have for decades let Turkey intimidate them. Consequently, they’ve needlessly kowtowed to Turkey. But Trump takes the cake.

How contrary to American interests — and humiliating — was Trump’s Turkish record in his first term?

And no, I’m not a Trump-hater.

Trump’s Terrible Turkish Résumé, in Brief

  • Trump’s Conflicts of Interest and Turkish Agents

Trump’s self-acknowledged “little conflict of interest” regarding Turkey isn’t little.

Istanbul’s Trump Towers/Mall naming rights, for instance, have yielded him $10+ million.

Mehmet Ali Yalcindag, Trump’s partner in that venture, chaired the Turkey-U.S. Business Council (TAIK).

Yalcindag brokered contacts between Berat Albayrak (Erdogan’s corruption-riddled son-in-law) and Jared Kushner (Trump’s son-in-law/ Middle East advisor).

TAIK employed (2013-2020) DC’s Mercury Public Affairs as its registered Turkish agent. Mercury also hired Trump’s communications sage, Bryan Lanza, to represent Ankara.

Another Turkish agent: Ballard Partners, headed by the top Trump fundraiser Brian Ballard. It maintains an Istanbul office.

Trump even engaged the Turkish designer Dorya Int’l to manufacture the “ultra-luxe” Trump Home(r) line.

  • Trump’s Silence after Erdogan’s Capital Rampage

After his White House meeting on May 16, 2017, Erdogan ordered his bodyguards to attack peaceful protesters outside his ambassador’s residence.

February | 2025 | Gates of Vienna (3)Thousands of people descended on London yesterday to protest the incarceration of Tommy Robinson, whom they claim is a political prisoner. Tommy is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence for repeating allegations about a Syrian refugee.

In other news, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned President Trump yesterday that excluding his country from talks between the U.S. and Russia about the war in Ukraine would be dangerous.

Back in 2023 I posted about an incident in Bavaria. Two Africans from an asylum facility in the town of Gachenbach stormed a church and attacked two elderly ladies. In response, the mayor of Gachenbach, Alfred Lengler, not only decommissioned two asylum facilities, he ordered them demolished. He said that his town was not obligated to take in any “refugees” whatsoever.

Now we have a video about the events in Gachenbach. It’s not current, but it’s quite inspirational.

Many thanks to Schwabe for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling.

The translator sends these notes:

In Federal Germany, the Asylum Industry [by far the largest industry in Germany] is run centrally from Berlin.

From Berlin, orders are passed down to each province or state, which must accept an unlimited contingent of refugees based on a means test. Each province then passes the buck to local counties and towns therein, who are required by law to accept everyone assigned to them.

The local communities get the [feces-smeared] end of the stick, with some two-thirds of the financing coming from the state.

Those towns that have empty state accommodations are at most risk of being invaded. And most don’t even have a local police station. Simply because it’s so peaceful there. Like many parts of rural white America.

In the small town of Gachenbach in Bavaria (pop. 2,500), two Africans stormed the village church and attacked a group of old aged pensioners, widows attending a wake in the local church, causing injury and distress.

Luckily, a gentleman neighbour heard the screams, intervened and expelled the sub-Saharan perpetrators from the gathering. As a result, the lord mayor Alfred Lengler cancelled all rental agreements with the county.

And to ensure that Berlin does not send any further refugees, he had the two accommodations razed with bulldozers.

Note:

This destruction of council property has probably caused a loss to the village of at least 2 to 5 million USD. But now, the people of Gachenbach are safe again, thanks to the brave mayor Alfred Lengler.

I just posted about a young mother in Germany who had to flee from an African culture-enricher who urgently needed a “date” with her. The following video features a young German woman who is afraid for similar reasons: when bus drivers don’t keep to a fixed schedule, it may lead to a life-threatening situation for women who have to wait in the dark at a bus stop for an indefinite period.

But this is the best Germany of all time! What possible reason could she have to be afraid…?

Many thanks to Schwabe for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling.

Note from the translator:

(Source on X)

I tend to agree with the poster. Young women are their own enemy. If women didn’t vote, this mass immigration would be over in a minute.

Men build civilisations. Women destroy them. The same women will think nothing of vilifying you for wanting peace and safety, for voting AfD. The same women will think nothing of screaming at you and not serve you for your political beliefs.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest, if she worked as a journalist, immigration helper or for another radical left-wing NGO.

If I were her father, I would certainly not leave her to wait for a bus, would not throw my own daughter to the wolves.

It’s sad. It’s a kind of cognitive dissonance that I’ve witnessed in my own family. An aunt, for example, crying because she’s afraid to leave the house without a body cam. In the same breath she will not hesitate to demonise the AfD. It’s madness.

In the following video, an African culture-enricher in Germany follows a young mother and her two children and pesters her for a “date”, until eventually she is forced to run away from him.

This particular encounter isn’t as frightening as some, since the youth with the sexual emergency doesn’t actually brandish weapons or lay hands on his prey. And it’s in broad daylight, in a fairly populated area. Nevertheless, it must be scary for a vulnerable young woman with small children.

An Afghan migrant in Germany whose asylum application was rejected is violent and dangerous, but he can’t be deported because… Well, just because. As a result, the local authorities have to pay €40,000 a month for private security to guard him.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from the online news portal Nius. The translator’s comments are in square brackets:

Islamist (20) will not be deported: Bad Kreuznach district pays €40,000 per month for private security service

A rejected asylum seeker from Afghanistan is said to have threatened fellow residents because they did not want to pray with him at night. He also smashed windows and attacked his fellow residents. The problem migrant now lives in a refugee shelter in Windesheim near Bad Kreuznach — and is guarded there around the clock.

The Afghan came to the Bad Kreuznach district back in September 2023, explains District Administrator Bettina Dickes (CDU) to SWR [Südwestrundfunk, regional public broadcaster]. He was then housed in a shared apartment with two other men in the municipality of Rüdesheim. But there had been several verbal and physical attacks. Mayor Markus Lüttger (CDU): “The young man attacked his roommates in the shared apartment with a stick, broke porcelain and smashed windows.”

Threats often have a religious connection

Lüttger reports that the Afghan criticized his fellow residents for not living their faith properly. He woke them up at night to get them to pray. After the residents felt threatened, the decision was made to move the 20-year-old, according to the mayor. But the situation did not calm down in the new accommodation in Windesheim, either. He continued to behave aggressively. According to the mayor, staff and residents expressed their fear.

Admission to psychiatric hospital not possible

District Administrator Dickes wanted to check whether the man needed to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital. But the health authority’s report was sobering: “According to their statement, there were no acute indications for admission at that time,” Dickes told SWR. Since then, the Islamist has lived in isolation in his own container. Even his food is brought to him.

Two people are assigned around the clock to guard the problem migrant. According to District Administrator Dickes, this costs the district around €40,000 every month. The CDU politician is advocating for the deportation of the rejected asylum seeker:

“It cannot be that after violent acts by refugees, people always ask why the authorities did nothing. Here we want to do something, but we cannot. We are powerless.”

The Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Integration has not been able to help the district administrator so far. They only said that they had already asked the responsible authorities to take the necessary steps for a quick deportation. They are in close contact with the immigration authorities responsible for terminating the stay, quoted by SWR. They always have all options in mind to “return criminals and dangerous individuals to their countries of origin if this is legally possible” and are working to achieve this at the federal political level. However, the final decision on the people to be deported is made by the Federal Ministry of the Interior. [Hahaha… you’ve got a greater chance of Hell freezing over than Nancy signing the deportation order for that guy.]

February | 2025 | Gates of Vienna (7)Our mega-tipster Reader from Chicago was unable to send as many tips as usual, due to circumstances beyond his control. As a result, tonight’s news feed is relatively small.

The Black Hawk military helicopter that collided with an American Airlines flight over DC on Wednesday night was reportedly conducting training to prepare for a catastrophic event or attack on the US. Meanwhile, the third crewperson on board the helicopter has finally been identified as Capt. Rebecca Lobach, who was assigned to the 12th Aviation Battalion in Fort Belvoir.

The five men arrested in connection with the assassination of the Iraqi-Swedish Koran-burner Salwan Momika have been released from custody.

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this brief video report, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

Below is the accompanying article article from the Swedish public broadcaster SVT, also translated by Gary Fouse:

Five men detained for Salwan Momika murder released

January 31, 2025

Five men who were detained on suspicion of the murder of Salwan Momika have been released, prosecution authorities announce.

“The criminal suspicions have weakened, and I see no further reason to keep people in custody,” says senior prosecutor Rasmus Öman, who is leading the investigation.

On Friday, SVT received information that the suspicions against the five suspects were too weak and that they would probably be released.

“All of them but one are without prior convictions, and a lot of question marks were raised even among the police since these were not typical perpetrators who we normally see with acts of violence,” says SVT’s crime reporter Diamant Salihu.

The prosecutor had until Sunday to request that the men be remanded to custody. Now that this has not been implemented, questions arise, according to Diamant Salihu.

“Who was the shooter — do we even have an idea about other suspects?”

The migration resolution that was touted by Friedrich Merz, the leader of the CDU, was narrowly defeated in the German Bundestag. The bill received full support from the AfD (Alternative für Deutschland, Alternative for Germany). It was by opposed by all of the left-wing parties, and also by some of the squishes from the purportedly “conservative” parties.

The attempt to pass the resolution failed, but the process succeeded in revealing the depth and breadth of Germany’s current political crisis, which is centered on the issue of migration. The following piece looks at the situation in detail.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this op-ed from Junge Freiheit. The translator’s comments are in square brackets:

Political confession on migration in the Bundestag

The migration bill introduced by CDU leader Friedrich Merz narrowly failed today. The differences between the left and right in parliament were more obvious than ever. What will remain of the announced asylum turnaround after the election? A commentary by JF editor-in-chief Dieter Stein.

Today Friedrich Merz narrowly failed to get a bill through the Bundestag that would have brought about a few immediate changes to migration policy. In the end, 12 votes were missing for a majority. Twelve members of the Union faction stayed away from the vote — most of them the hard core of Merkel’s followers such as Monika Grütters, Helge Braun and Thomas Heilmann.

While the AfD voted unanimously for the motion, 16 FDP representatives apparently had to get their weekend flight in time, 5 abstained and 2 voted NO. Merz accuses the FDP of being responsible for the failure.

Within 48 hours, the left-wing front of the Greens and SPD mobilised a mob against the Union [Yep, the “Brown” — or should I rather say Black — shirts of these “NAZIS” are always on call when it comes to the murdering of their own country.]

The storm of indignation from the Left that has swept across the country over the past 48 hours will not have left parliamentarians unscathed. The CDU is the Nazis’ henchman, a second seizure of power is imminent, and now there is a threat of an AfD-CDU government after February 23rd.

Within a few hours, the Greens and the SPD had their “civil society” Antifa storm troopers, the NGOs subsidized annually with an incredible €182 million of state [it’s TAX] money from the “Living Democracy” funding pot, on the streets, the Konrad Adenauer House was blocked by thousands of demonstrators, and cries rang out of “All together against fascism!”, “Ban the CDU” and “All of Berlin hates the CDU!”

Across the country, countless CDU offices have been attacked by left-wing radical hooligans, premises have been vandalized, facades have been smeared, and employees have been threatened. This is something that the AfD in particular has had to experience in recent years. An outcry that has spread throughout the country? A protest note from the Federal President? None. This shows who, in an emergency, will quickly bring the streets and the mob into position to put politicians and parliaments under pressure.

It was a historic debate: never were the contradictions more obvious [What else can one expect from these vicious, poisonous snakes?]

Today’s Bundestag debate can be called historic. The differences between the parties were more obvious than ever on a central, fateful political issue: migration. Suddenly it became clear how deep the divide is between the left part of the plenum and the right on this issue — and the right side is actually formed by the bloc of FDP, CDU/CSU and AfD.

Nieuwegein is a municipality in the Dutch province of Utrecht. Earlier today an 11-year-old girl was stabbed to death on the street in Nieuwegein. This was an instance of enricher-on-enricher violence: the victim was Eritrean, and her alleged murderer is a Syrian. The circumstances of the killing are unclear. As usual, the killer reportedly had psychological problems.

The following video is a brief and unsatisfying account of what happened. Many thanks to Gary Fouse for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

Below is the accompanying article from De Telegraaf, also translated by Gary Fouse:

11-year-old girl stabbed to death in Nieuwegein, 29-year-old suspect arrested

February 1, 2025

Utrecht— An 11-year-old girl was stabbed to death Saturday on Anemoon Street in Nieuwegein. First aid was given on the street, but in the afternoon came the report that she died of her wounds. Not far from the crime scene, a 29-year-old suspect was arrested, according to Utrecht police. Residents say they have long been worried about the man.

A medical team sped to the scene by helicopter after the violence was reported. Anemoon Street was largely cordoned off for the investigation and was soon filled with police cars, as may be seen in the images. A white screen was set up on the street.

As yet, nothing is clear about the incident. Witnesses are asked to come forward. “The police are continuing the investigation.”

Neighbors say that the family of the victim is originally from Eritrea. The girl would have celebrated her birthday on Friday. As for the arrested man, according to people in the neighborhood, he was reported at least three times to the authorities on account of his confused behavior. According to them, the suspect comes from Syria. The police can not yet confirm this. As seen in the photos, he was taken away in handcuffs by police.

Victim assistance

A spokesperson for the police states that victim assistance is available for neighbors who witnessed the tragedy. At the place where the girl died screens have been placed to shield her from view. The police are conducting an investigation there. In addition, the street where it happened, Anemoon Street, is closed off.

“People are emotional. They are shocked, anxious, and sad,” the spokesperson says. “We are at the scene, and for those who need it, we are giving an arm around the shoulder.”

The neighborhood residents saw how the ambulance services and trauma helicopter responded on Saturday.

Mayor of Nieuwegein speaks of “nightmare”

The mayor of Nieuwegein, Marijke van Bekering, speaks of a “black page for the relatives and for Nieuwegein.”

Rasmus Paludan was forbidden by the Danish police from burning a Koran, but he did it anyway — he just didn’t tell the police. His blasphemous action took place today in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen.

Mr. Paludan posted a video of the burning on X.

Many thanks to our Swedish correspondent LN for translating this article from the Swedish daily Aftonbladet:

Paludan burns the Koran in Copenhagen

Danish-Swedish politician and provocateur Rasmus Paludan burned a Koran outside the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen, as he shows in a video on X.

On Friday, Danish police announced that Paludan, based on a “concrete assessment”, was banned from demonstrating in Copenhagen for the next 24 hours. Paludan is now choosing to defy this.

“The solution is not to tell the Copenhagen police that you are holding a protest,” Paludan says in the video, adding that the action is a way of honoring the murdered Koran-burner Salwan Momika.

Paludan has stated that after the murder of Momika in Södertälje, he was contacted by PET, the Danish equivalent of Säpo [Swedish Security Police]. Like Momika, he has burned copies of the Quran in public on several occasions.
